Have you heard that the FAFSA is changing? Our first Money MILE of the year will focus on this important topic so all Mitchell Scholars can be prepared when the application opens in December.
We invite Mitchell Scholars and Alumni to join us virtually on November 14 for this Money MILE event. The evening session will help attendees better understand the changes that they’ll encounter when they apply for federal financial aid. Attendees will have ample opportunity for Q&A following the presentation.
Tuesday, November 14
7pm-8pm EST
Via Zoom
The content of this event is recommended for those who will be filling out the FAFSA this year, but anyone who might find this information helpful is welcome. We recognize that many Mitchell Scholars do not complete their FAFSA independently. (The new changes will, in fact, require involvement from parents or guardians for most Scholars.) So, for this specific Money MILE, we invite Scholars to bring along your parents, guardians, counselors, or anyone who helps you complete the FAFSA.
Mitchell Scholar Alumni who are parents to, or work with, college-going students are welcome to join us as well!
All Scholars and Alumni who attend will be entered into a raffle to receive one of two $75 Visa gift cards! The Zoom link will be sent to registrants a few days before the event.
The Mitchell Institute Alumni Council and staff are excited to present Money MILE, a virtual event designed to provide Scholars and Alumni with a safe space to build their understanding of money-related topics and give them tools to improve their financial well-being. This year, we’ll be hosting two virtual installments of the event, one in November and one in February.
